Dear Undergraduate Researchers:

Good news! The Office of Undergraduate Research is extending the deadline for the the 2021 Scholarly Undergraduate Research Experience funding competition (SURE) for another week, with applications now due on Friday, April 16.

If you've ever been intrigued by something you've learned in class and wanted to do more research but didn't have the time or resources -- now's your chance! Students may use the $500.00 SURE award to purchase books or supplies, to pay rent to live near your faculty mentor during the summer, to cover fees associated with archival research, or to replace lost income due to taking time off from a summer job to focus on your research full time. There are various ways to use the funding, and your research projects -- as long as they are original and student-driven -- are limited only by your creativity.

The application is attached below. Questions? Email: (vgutierrez@apu.edu) if you would like to think through your ideas as well. Remember, you must be a currently enrolled full-time student (cannot be graduating in May 2021), the project must be original research not funded by any other source,** and you must have a full-time faculty mentor.

More info is in this 1:32 minute promotional video.
