An APU South Africa track in Cape Town specifically for Psychology.

Students are offered the opportunity to learn, serve, and connect with the unique culture of South Africa including a two week home stay with a South African family, visits to Johannesburg, Soweto, Fish Hoek, Pietermaritzburg & more.

HIST 235 Cultural History/Travel Study 3 units

PSYC 386 Community Psychology 3 units

PSYC 455 Field Experience 1 3 units

PSYC 463 Drugs, Behavior, & Society (ONLINE) 3 units

PSYC 301 Global-Local Cultural Psychology Integration I 1 unit

(Students will attend a 2-day pre-departure orientation with the Department of Undergraduate Psychology. Dates vary by semester. Housing NOT available prior to departure.)

PSYC 302 Global-Local Cultural Psychology Integration II 2 units

(Students will enroll in a re-entry course the following semester. This is required for Psychology students that participated in the Cape Town Semester.)

THEO 303 Theology and the Christian Life (ONLINE) 3 units

UBBL 230 Luke/Acts (ONLINE) 3 units

UBBL 330 Life and Teachings of Jesus 3 units

· APU prerequisites/placement standards MANDATORY for all course options.

· You must maintain full-time enrollment status (min. 12 units)


The Cape Town PSYC South Africa Program allows APU students to apply their FULL financial aid towards the semester charges, including all federal, state and institutional aid. APU scholarships requiring on-campus participation are not included. Your regular payment dates apply.
