Social Model Recovery Systems is a non-profit organization that has helped individuals and their families struggling with alcohol and other drug use, abuse and addiction since 1986. We have nine treatment programs throughout Los Angeles County and Orange County. Our main office is located in Covina, Ca. where we are currently looking for two interns to be a part of our team. We are looking for the following types of interns:


Social Model Recovery Systems is offering an MFTI internship within our Screening and Assessment Department located at the Main Office of Social Model Recovery Systems. This position would be working with the Senior Director of Community Relations and the Director of Screening and Assessment. He/She would be assisting in projects and individual tasks relating to screening potential participants, assessments and admits.


Social Model Recovery Systems is offering an undergrad level internship within our Community Relations Department located at the Main Office of Social Model Recovery Systems. This position would be working with the Senior Director of Community Relations and the Assistant of Community Relations. This internship includes working on any and all aspects of the outreach/marketing segments within our Marketing Plan. He/She will be assisting with the focused outreach strategy plans, continuing care connections for participants, uncompromising customer service, networking and promotion strategies, marketing materials and online marketing design and distribution.

School Psychology and Counseling Interns ~ Charter Oak Unified School District currently has four openings for student interns. 1. ACES is an organization that provides in home and in school behavioral intervention/behavioral therapy services to children using ABA therapy. Both paid employment and internship opportunities exist. Students interested in receiving training and experience in ABA therapy can contact jsobonya@acesaba.com

2. A parent of a high functioning ASD (autism spectrum disorders) 18 year old female is looking for a behavioral aid/mentor to work with transitioning from high school to community college. Summer internship opportunity includes supporting the student in learning to navigate public transportation, college campus, and registration processes. Opportunity to participate in behavioral and psychotherapeutic processes are available. Opportunity to provide invivo behavioral and social skills therapeutic work are present. Fall semester internship/field work with this student will involve mentoring/behavioral assisting in navigating courses, developing social skills appropriate for college, and advancing academic and social skills. Continued participation in professional behavioral and psychotherapeutic processes are available. 3. Pacific Lifeline, a transitional living center for women and children, have summer and fall internship opportunities. Student interns assist in facilitating children's therapy programs (group and developmental/behavioral interventionist 1:1 work), and have the opportunity to engage in case management, and/or family activities as well.
